SR. Mechanical Engineer

Insight Global is seeking a Sr.
Mechanical Engineer to join a small team supporting a growing medical device start up.
This role will be reporting to the Director of Operations and will be overall responsible for a broad range of operational responsibilities across the entire supply chain including design for manufacturability, supplier development, process development, manufacturing support, and distribution.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and drive scale up projects to ensure manufacturing capacity grows with customer demand- Develop technical expertise for areas of responsibility and act as a main point of contact for both internal and external inquiries- Own development and continual operation of manufacturing processes, validations, equipment, and tooling for a medical device assembly line.
- Apply technical knowledge to innovate, design, and develop processes, procedures, tooling and/or automation.
- Support production through efficient and effective identification and resolution of line issues.
- Investigate and own process improvement projects that improve process yields, operational efficiency and cost of goods sold.
- Own assessment and disposition of potentially discrepant product.
- Effectively train product builders on manufacturing processes including proper and safe use of equipment and fixtures.
- Properly document activities in accordance with best engineering practices, company procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Strong understanding of Design for Manufacturability, and medical device quality system requirements.
- CAD software experience (SolidWorks preferred).
- Demonstrated cross functional teamwork in a technically demanding environment.
- Strong bias for action and ability to effectively prioritize work and deliver business results in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering plus a minimum of 5
years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Demonstrated ability to develop equipment / fixtures from concept to production.
- Practical understanding of manufacturing problem solving and process improvement tools such as DMAIC.
- Self-starter with proven ability to successfully work with minimal supervision.
- Multitasks, prioritizes, and meets deadlines in a timely manner with high attention to detail.
- Medical Device or regulated industry experience.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
